Scott Brown 'Massachusetts' Quote has Democrats Abuzz
The former Massachusetts senator, now a resident of Rye, N.H., is seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.
Scott Brown, who is running for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire and is one of 10 Republicans on the ballot for the state primary Sept. 9, made a reference to the "Massachusetts delegation" during a radio interview that has Democrats abuzz.
The quote, they say, shows that the former Massachusetts senator slipped up on which state he's running to represent.
Brown's campaign says that's nonsense and that, according to the Boston Herald's Joe Dwinell, he was referring to the Bay State because he was speaking with Boston Herald Radio, a Massachusetts media outlet.
Brown was speaking about immigration and referring to U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), when he said:
"That’s a big difference between Senator Shaheen and me and many other people – the Massachusetts delegation and Senator Shaheen in particular and the President. I'm not for amnesty, I never have been."
Listen to the Boston Herald Radio interview via the SoundCloud clip attached; the Brown quote in question is at the 4:10 mark.
