We Care Charity Opens Food Pantry in Salem

SALEM, NH - The new We Care Charity Food Pantry is now officially open in Salem.

The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the new pantry located at 24 North Broadway in Salem in February.

The We Care Charity, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the town of Salem, was started in 2012 by Shefali Kalyani. The non-profit now has four branches, a team of unpaid volunteers, and serve over 2000 meals per month.

The group also helps veterans and families with food and blankets and helps feed 375 impoverished students in New England.

The pantry is located at 24 N. Broadway St Unit 14 D10 Salem, NH 03079. Hours of operation: Tuesday 10 - 1 p.m.; Thursday 4-6 p.m.; Saturday 10- 1 p.m.

The shelter is seeking the following types of donations:

All Canned Items:
Peas, Carrots, Green beans, Fruit, Soups, Tuna, canned spaghettios, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, Pasta Sauce, Mac/cheese, Sugar, Elbow Macaroni, Penne Pasta, Spaghetti, Spaghetti Sauce (Any kind)

Other Items:
Chewy granola bars, Fruit cups, Rice bags, Individual water bottles, Individual Juice boxes (Caprice, apple or any juice), Brownie mix, Cake mix, Cereal (Adult) Cereal (Child), Ground coffee, Tea, Cookies, Crackers, Jelly, Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Mustard, Instant and regular Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Salad Dressings, Individually wrapped paper towels, Individually wrapped toilet paper, sugar, Any size diapers, Feminine Hygiene products, Shampoo, Soap, Tissues, Toothpaste, Deoderant, Laundry Detergent, Dish Detergent.
