WZID Is NH Station Of The Year; McDevitt Nets Broadcaster Award

MANCHESTER, NH — New Hampshire's radio and television broadcasters were feted at the annual Granite Mike Awards honoring a number of stations and on-air talent for their coverage of news, documentaries, and sports. More than 230 submissions were entered into 20 competitive broadcasting categories.

WMUR-TV News Director Alisah McDevitt was named the 2019 Broadcaster of the Year. McDevitt, it was noted, has spent her entire broadcasting career in the Granite State, starting out as an intern at the station when she was attending college at UNH in 1995.

WZID-FM took the radio station of the year honors with its morning show, "NH In The Morning With Neal and Marga" taking first in the morning show category.

Kim Ashley, a radio host for WGXL in the Upper Valley, and WMUR TV’s Fritz Wetherbee, received the radio and television air personality awards.

The Manchester hotel standoff, Randolph motorcycle accident that took the lives of seven, a radio package about a rural doctor surrendering their license, and the Windows to the Wild Hiking for Hunger feature all won awards in various news categories.
