$5K Reward Offered In Unsolved I-78 Shooting Of Woman

The woman had 3 gunshot wounds to her head, hand, and chest and was found inside her car on March 31 on I-78 near the Pennsylvania border.

GREENWICH, NJ — A $5,000 reward is being offered in connection with a woman who was found shot three times inside her car on I-78 near the Pennsylvania border.

The reward money is being offered by QuVa Pharma for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who shot and injured Cory Vernon, 39, of Easton, Pennyslvania, on I-78 in Greenwich Township in Warren County. Just before 6 a.m. on March 31 a passerby called police about a car that appeared to have been in an accident and was disabled on I-78 east near exit 6 in Greenwich Township in Warren County, State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

When troopers from Troop "B" Perryville Station arrived they found a woman who was conscious and alert inside her vehicle, Goez said.

The woman had three gunshot wounds to her head, hand, and chest. She was treated at the scene before being taken to an area hospital where she was last listed in stable condition, Goez said.

"Detectives believe that the shooting may have been the result of an incident that occurred between the victim and the unknown suspect motorist on Interstate 78 east between Exit 75 (Morgan Hill Road) in Easton, PA and Exit 6 in New Jersey," Goez said.
