Cases and Vaccinations

Somerset County officials have reported 37 new cases and no additional COVID-19 deaths in Bernards Township since Feb. 11. The county health department has seen 1,106 cases and 47 coronavirus deaths in the township since the pandemic began.

Health officials have tallied 17,282 cases and 675 coronavirus deaths in Somerset County.

The New Jersey Department of Health reduced the region's coronavirus risk to "moderate" in its weekly activity report for Feb. 6. Much of New Jersey remains at "high" risk based off data such as case rates and positivity rates.

State health officials have tallied 58,453 vaccine doses administered in Somerset County as of noon Thursday — about 15,000 more since Basking Ridge Patch's last update Feb. 10.

  • Somerset County postponed its COVID vaccination clinic for Thursday at Raritan Valley Community College due to the incoming winter storm. All appointments are rescheduled to the same time on Saturday. For questions, call 908-231-7155. MORE.

  • The presence of the coronavirus variant that originated overseas has slowed down reopening attempts in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy said during a news conference Wednesday afternoon. MORE.
  • Thursday's snowstorm shut down multiple COVID-19 "megasites" around New Jersey. MORE.
  • COVID-19 vaccine doses from New Jersey-based Johnson & Johnson may
    now be coming later than expected, according to Dr. Anthony Fauci. The change could effectively delay widespread vaccine distribution to mid-to-late May or early June, he said. MORE.
