Basking Ridge, Somerset To Host Turkey Trot Sunday
A 5K turkey trot will each be held in Basking Ridge and in Somerset on Sunday. Both races include a 1 mile walk as well.

BASKING RIDGE/SOMERSET, NJ — Thanksgiving is approaching and the annual turkey trot races are already beginning. Two upcoming 5K races will be held in Basking Ridge and Somerset on Sunday.
When: 5K will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 Mile Health Walk will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Mountain Park at Martinsville and Mountain Road in Basking Ridge.

Cost: $25 for 5K and 1 Mile Health Walk.
Details: USATF Certified 5K course. Professional race timing on a flat looped trail through the park, digital clocks, split times and printed race results provided and posted by CompuScore, Services, www.compuscore.com.

All entrants will pick up race packets on race day at the race site. T-shirts guaranteed to pre-registered runners and health walkers.
Sponsored by the William Annin Middle School PTO to kick off the holiday season in a healthy way. Entrants and spectators are encouraged to bring nonperishable foods for donation to the Food Bank of Somerset County.
Awards: To top overall male and female and top three runners in each age group in different age increments. No duplicate awards.

When: Race registration and packet pickup in LOT C at Knob Hill Pavillion for the 1 Mile Fun Run Walk is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 5K Turkey Trot from 8:30 to 10 a.m. 1 Mile Fun Run Walk will start at 10 a.m. and 5K Turkey Trot at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Franklin Township.
Cost: $30 race day registration on-site at Colonial Park, LOT C. Entry fee covers participation in one or both of the races.
Awards: Frozen turkeys for the top 3 female and male 5k finishers. Awards also given to the top 3 female and male 5k finishers in each age group. No duplicate awards. Age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.
Course: Flat and fast. Water stops. Race starts and ends in Colonial Park. Post-race refreshments. Click HERE to view the course map.
