Basking Ridge Under Flash Flood Warning

More heavy rain is expected later this morning

BASKING RIDGE—A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for northeastern Somerset County, including Bernards Township, the result of a thunderstorm that dumped up to two inches of rain on the area Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service said flash flooding is "ongoing or expected to begin shortly" in Somerset County. The warning advised residents to expect "flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas."

The Flash Flood Warning remains in place through 2 p.m. Forecasters said another two inches of rain is possible this morning.
