Basking Ridge Wine Shop Adds Bling, Custom Art To Bottles

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge’s Select Vintage Wine & Spirits is adding some bling this holiday season with their one-of-a-kind bottles.

Owner and artist Ivey Kampouris creates art out of liquor bottles to celebrate any occasion at her store at 3 Lyons Mall (next to Stop & Shop) in Basking Ridge.

"Customers can choose a bottle and tell me what they want and their budget," Kampouris said. "I do weddings, holidays, whatever. And I can use glitter, paint, crystals, gold leaf and a variety of things."

The bling can be added on anything in the store including, wine, beer, champagne and liquor bottles and wine shoes.

How fancy or extravagant you would like to go all depends on your budget. Kampouris can bling a bottle for as little as $10 and has done some for as high as $500. She even designed a Dom Perignon champagne bottle that was given to the pop singer Jennifer Lopez "J Lo."

The bottles are also decorated to last.

"I use a permanent glaze on the bottles and wine shoes so the glitter won’t come off," Kampouris said. "It’s a keepsake, like a memento."

Customers can also put names or important dates such as wedding, birthday, anniversaries on it. Some even are used to be given as bridesmaid or groomsmen gifts.

Kampouris began selling her bottle bling two years ago but has always been an artist at heart.

She went to art school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she had American Fashion Designer Tom Ford in her art class. She later began freelance work in New York City before moving to New Jersey where she began her family.

Kampouris also sells large artwork and custom work as well.
