Basking Ridge's Christmas Tree Is Here

Basking Ridge Fire Company 1 and EMS helped to erect and decorate the township's Christmas tree. The Community Tree Lighting is Saturday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Basking Ridge Fire Company 1 and EMS helped to erect the townships annual Christmas tree in the center of town on Friday.

It was put up and decorated with lights and a star, ready to be lit at the fourth annual Winter Market and Community Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 2, hosted by the Basking Ridge Business Alliance.

The event will go from from noon to 7 p.m., rain or shine, in downtown Basking Ridge and the Winter Market will be held at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church located at 22 S. Finley Ave.

Noon - Winter Market Opens

  • Browse local shops and dine in local restaurants
  • Discover unusual treasures at more than 20 different vendor tables
  • Support veterans by purchasing poinsettias
  • Purchase a real Christmas tree or decorate a wreath from Bishop Janes Church, where all the money goes to Missions local and around the world
  • Listen to the "Trilogy" performers read Twas the Night Before Christmas
  • See the Gotta Dance performers
  • Hear the In Tune Choir
  • Listen to the William Annin Middle School Select Choir, directed by Teri Weniger
  • Enjoy the Children's Shoppe, where children 3-10 make holiday crafts
  • Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus

5:30 p.m. - Welcome Ceremony and Tree Lighting

Santa arrives on a Basking Ridge Fire Company fire engine, escorted by carolers, to light the tree. He will be welcomed by Basking Ridge Business Alliance president Bill Youngblood.
6 p.m. - Photos with Santa
