Bernards Township Committeeman Esposito Is Resigning, Moving

Bernards Township Deputy Mayor Joseph Esposito announced his resignation on Tuesday, effective at the end of May.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township Committeeman and Deputy Mayor Joseph Esposito is resigning from all of his positions.

"I am resigning from all of my roles, exiting the state of New Jersey at the end of the month," said Esposito during the Tuesday night Planning Board meeting.

"It was a pleasure serving with all of you and getting to know all of you," said Esposito. "If you are ever in South Carolina look me up."

Esposito began serving on the Township Committee in January 2019 and has been a resident of Bernards Township since 1999, along with his wife, Debra, and their three children, Daphne, Julien, and Chloe.

As of 2021, Esposito was serving on a number of township committees including Library Board, Planning Board, Police Subcommittee, Sewerage Authority, and Somerset County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

Esposito's term was set to expire at the end of 2021 along with Joan Bannan. Neither are running for re-election.
