Bernards Twp. Health Offering COVID-19 Tests In Community Center

This week's testing will take place Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bernards Township Community Center.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department will conduct its weekly COVID-19 testing Thursday. Tests will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bernards Township Community Center (289 South Maple Ave., Basking Ridge).

All participants must remain in their vehicles until appointment time and must wear a mask or face covering during registration and testing. All clients will get screened in a process that includes answering questions and check of vital signs.

All participants must present a state-issued photo ID or driver's license and their health insurance cards. Testing is free with health insurance. Only diagnostic services covered by a patient's provider will be performed.

Testing is available for people 5 and older. Positive results will be delivered by phone or text, and a hard copy is available upon request. WellCare, which will provide clinical services, will provide clients with info on how to get results.

The Bernards Township Health Department has provided weekly COVID-19 testing. The New Jersey Department of Health can also connect people with testing options, including free sites.

Officials have identified 36 new coronavirus cases in Bernards Township since Tuesday. Somerset County has reported 1,371 infections and 47 COVID-19 deaths in the township since the pandemic began.
