Community Workshop To Tackle Heroin Addiction, Narcan Use, Recovery Resources
A workshop on heroin addiction will be held this Friday for Somerset County parents, guardians, and those who work with children.

A workshop on heroin addiction will be held for the Somerset County community this Friday, providing information on antidotes including Narcan, drug trends, and recovery resources.
Parents, guardians and professionals who work with children and families are invited to the Office of Youth Services Community Connections workshop.
The workshop will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 in the first floor conference room at the Somerset County Human Services Building, located at 27 Warren Street.

A panel of experts will review information about heroin, opioid antidotes, including Narcan, drug trends, current statistics, treatment, recovery and available support for heroin addiction.

Participants will include Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Chief of Detectives Timothy M. Fitzgerald, Detective Sergeant David Whipple, Assistant Prosecutor John R. Ascione and Somerset Treatment Services Executive Director Barbara Schlichting.
The suggested donation for the program is $20. Cash or checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Friends of Somerset County Youth. Professional development credits will be made available.
All proceeds from the workshop will benefit Friends of Somerset County Youth, which is a non-profit organization established to help address unmet needs of youth by providing resources to existing and emerging youth service organizations.
This workshop is being offered in partnership by the Somerset County Office of Youth Services, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, EmPoWER Somerset, the Safe Communities Coalition of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties and Somerset Treatment Services.
