Coronavirus Tests Taking Place Thursday In Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department will conduct coronavirus testing Thursday. The session will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bernards Township Community Center (289 South Maple Ave., Basking Ridge).

Click here to register for an appointment. Officials reserved the first half-hour for first responders only.

All participants must remain in their vehicles until their appointment time and must wear a mask or face covering during registration or testing. All clients will get screened. The process includes answering questions and checking for vital signs.

Those getting tested must bring a state-issued photo ID or driver's license. Testing is available for people 5 and older.

Officials will text or call patients "in a timely manner" to alert them of positive tests, according to the Bernards Township Health Department. WellCare will provide client information on obtaining test results.

Testing is free with medical insurance. Only diagnostic medical services covered by your medical insurance will be performed.

Somerset County officials have reported 1,022 cases and 47 coronavirus deaths in Bernards Township since the pandemic began.
