BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge and much of the world probably can't wait to leave 2020 behind. But sometimes the community came together, even though people had to stay physically far apart.

Bernards Township lost 44 people to the coronavirus, according to Somerset County officials. Even as the pandemic took its toll, the community made it through the year and found a few reasons to celebrate.

The car chase began in Watchung, went into Warren and ended in Basking Ridge where the driver stopped and ran away on foot, police said.

The resident also received picture messages of "gruesome acts of violence" and a picture of a masked person holding a weapon, police said.


The second suit filed in 2018 alleged that Pingry was aware of the sexual abuse by Thad Alton Jr. and hid it from the public and parents.
