It is unclear when power will be restored, and parts of South Finley Avenue remain closed due to damage from Isaias

BASKING RIDGE, NJ— Tropical Storm Isaias brought high winds, torrential rain, flooding, and power outages throughout the state, including major road closures and outages in Basking Ridge.

Jersey Central Power & Light reported more than 6,200 outages in Bernards Township on Tuesday afternoon, adding to the total of nearly 700,000 in the state. The utility said in a statement that more than 1,700 technicians, line workers, damage assessors, and support personnel are being brought in from non-affected areas to restore power service.

Parts of South Finley Avenue remain closed—near Ridge High School to Homestead Road and from the Lyons Road merge to Linden Drive. Lake Road, previously inaccessible, is open.
