
The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

learning about the Emerald Isle and the traditions of Ireland
following by an Irish treat and a short hike.

leisurely walk along the trails of Lord Stirling Park to enjoy the
natural beauty of spring in New Jersey.

Saturdays, March 21 and 28 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon
Children age 5 to 8 will enjoy a weekend learning adventure, joining a
Naturalist for a themed exploration of the Great Swamp.
Fee is $18 per person for the 2-day program.

Bernards Township Community Art Show – FREE EVENT
Saturday, March 21 to Sunday, April 19 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
The 9th annual non-juried art show with a variety of media and subject
produced by Bernards Township adult residents.

“The Great Swamp Experience,” on the lower level at the EEC, features interactive displays, vignettes, taxidermy, and archeological artifacts highlighting the history and ecology of the Great Swamp. The exhibit is open 7 days a week from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission Is free.
Please note that dog walking is not permitted on the trails at the Environmental Education Center.
