"There are two elements that make the story so compelling. First, the Great Oak was completely unique. America’s oldest white oak tree, living for 619 years, located in the center of an historic graveyard housing the remains of over 30 Revolutionary War soldiers, Washington and Lafayette met under its canopy to discuss battle plans. But it is also a universal story. The close relationship of communities with their natural surroundings, the importance of caring for our natural resources, the ways in which a shared history creates a community. We were thrilled when 1091 reached out to us with an offer to distribute Under the Great Oak," Reynolds said.

Since producing the film, Reynolds has submitted to several film festivals and aired it locally.
