Girls Lacrosse: Ridge Beats Montgomery in NJSIAA Semifinal
Advances to NJSIAA Quarterfinals against Morristown
Bernards Township – The Ridge girls lacrosse team beat Montgomery, 15-10, Tuesday June 1st in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey Group 4 tournament. The sixth seeded Red Devils came into the contest geared up for a win after a disappointing 14-6 regular season loss to the eleventh seeded Cougars.
Ridge took the lead within the first five minutes of the game with three unanswered goals, continuing to attack Montgomery’s defense throughout the half after winning multiple draws and controlling the tempo to finish ahead 8-3.
The Red Devils offense controlled most of the 2nd half as well with the Cougars struggling to win draws or hold on to possessions. With three minutes remaining in the contest, Ridge held the lead and ran the clock down to finish 15-10.

Midfielders Kate Pesarchick, Jennifer Prince and Julie Narleski led the offensive effort by winning four draw controls a piece, causing multiple Montgomery turnovers, and contributing four, three and two goals respectively. The offense was rounded out with goals from Samantha Byrne, Abby Conyers and Nicole Sileo.
Ridge advances to the NJSIAA quarterfinals where they will face-off against third seeded Morristown Saturday, June 5th.
