I-78 To Close Overnight For Emergency Repairs In Somerset County

Two lanes on I-78 eastbound will be closed overnight for emergency roadway repairs between Bernards Township and Warren Township.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Two lanes on I-78 eastbound will be closed overnight for emergency roadway repairs between Bernards Township and Warren Township, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced.

Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 20, and continuing until 5 a.m. the next day, the center and right lanes will be closed on I-78 eastbound between the area near Somerville Road in Bernards Township and Liberty Corner Road/CR 525 in Warren Township for emergency repairs to the roadway.

"The highway has been identified as showing severe signs of rapid deterioration due to the recent freeze and thaw cycles. Motorists are advised to use caution," NJDOT announced.
