I-78 Lanes To Close In Basking Ridge, Bridgewater Area All Week
Lane closures are expected all week as the I-78 bridge replacement project over Route 202/206 and Washington Valley Road continues.
SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — All week drivers can expect daytime lane closures on I-78 for the bridge replacement project over Route 202/206 and Washington Valley Road in Bernards, Bridgewater, and Bedminster, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials said.
The right lane and shoulder of I-78 westbound will be closed on Monday at 7 a.m. through 2 p.m. for milling and paving. On Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. the right and center lanes on I-78 westbound will be closed.
On Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily there will be single lane closures on I-78 eastbound for milling and paving.

The $27.9 million federally-funded project will replace both eastbound and westbound bridge decks over Route 202/Route 206 and Washington Valley Road, which are in poor condition.
In addition, the existing guiderail will be brought up to current standards. Construction of all bridges is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
