Man Hunt With K-9, Helicopter Ends In Arrest In Basking Ridge
The car chase began in Watchung, went into Warren and ended in Basking Ridge where the driver stopped and ran away on foot, police said.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A police chase by car and then on foot, that involved authorities from across Somerset County, ends with an arrest of a Newark man in Basking Ridge on Monday night.
The chase began in Watchung at 9 p.m. when a suspicious vehicle fled from the Watchung Borough Police, Bernards Township Police said.
Warren Police then chased the vehicle into Basking Ridge where the driver stopped on Stockmar Drive and got out to run away on foot, police said.

Police Officers from Warren, Bernards, Far Hills, and Long Hill all searched for the man along with Police K-9 units from Warren, Bound Brook, Hillsborough, and the Somerset County Sheriff's Office. The New Jersey State Police aviation unit also helped with the search.
About two hours later Bernards Township Police Officer Raymond Gizienski was able to arrest the man in the area of Mt. Airy Road and Chelsea Court. He was turned over to Warren Police, said Bernards Township Police Lt. Jon Burger.

The man was identified as Jahquani Daley, 22, from Newark and he was charged with third-degree eluding police and possession of controlled dangerous substance (Marijuana) under 50 grams.
There were no motor vehicle crashes or injuries as a result of the chase, police said.
