Maple Avenue Construction For Most Of June
North and South Maple Avenue in Bernards will be closed for much of the month for construction as crews install a main.
BERNARDS, NJ — North and South Maple Avenue in Bernards is set to be shut down for construction beginning about June 10, according to the township. The start date depends on the weather.
New Jersey American Water is going to install about 2,800 feet of new 20-inch transmission main, the township said, along Maple from Prospect Avenue to East Craig Street.
Beginning Monday, June 10, work is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for about four weeks.

They're installing another 1,860 feet of pipe leading to the company's booster station, the township said.
"The project represents a critical investment for the company in support of our commitment to provide customers with safe, reliable water service," the township said.

Traffic will be detoured during working hours. Residents and emergency vehicles, however, will be able to get through.
