No Injuries Reported After Car Strikes Bernards Twp. Walgreens

The 82-year-old driver of a vehicle inadvertently hit the store after her foot slipped off of the brake and hit the gas, police said.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — No one was injured Wednesday morning when a vehicle was inadvertently driven into the side of a Bernards Township Walgreens store, which remains open for business, police said.

The accident took place at 10 a.m. at the Walgreens at 544 Allen Road. The 82-year-old driver of a Blue Chevy Impala was parking her car when her foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas pedal, which caused the vehicle to accelerate into the building, police spokesman Capt. Scott Ward said on Wednesday.

The building’s structure was checked by Bernards Township officials, who deemed it to be safe after the accident, Ward said.
