Pingry School Offers COVID Vaccines To Local Students

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Pingry School is offering a limited number of COVID-19 vaccinations to students from the local community. The private school received doses through a Rite Aid partnership.

The Pingry School has received vaccines for its students and will now also offer them to Pingry parents. Vaccines will get administered on the Basking Ridge campus (131 Martinsville Rd.) on April 24 and then May 15 for required follow-up doses.

New Jersey opened COVID-19 vaccine eligibility Monday to everyone 16 and older. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds can only receive the Pfizer vaccine, and a parent or legal guardian must accompany them, according to state regulations.

Those who complete registration will receive a confirmation email, which will feature a Rite Aid vaccine consent form that must be ready ahead of each appointment. Students and parents will also need to bring the following:

  • a copy of your student photo ID card, passport, state driver's license or state ID card
  • a copy of your health insurance card
  • a copy of your prescription insurance card if you have one

It is essential to arrive with photocopies of each — not the original documents — since Rite Aid will collect them. The clinic is free regardless of insurance coverage. Click here for more info.

As of Thursday afternoon, 2.63 people have been fully vaccinated, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. The state began the vaccination process with a goal of getting 4.7 million people — 70 percent of the adult population — fully inoculated by the end of June.
