Performed onstage in the style of a 1940s Radio Play, residents can enjoy the recordings of the Drama Club’s “A Christmas Carol” (12/19) and “It’s a Wonderful Life” (12/20) from the comfort of their own homes. The shows have different casts.
Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” tells the tale of the callous, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey to finding the meaning of family, love, and charity. With the help of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, Scrooge learns the meaning of the Christmas season and discovers that the greatest joys in life come from joining hands with those you love and spreading goodwill and love.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” explores the life of George Bailey, a man who finds himself at the pinnacle of despair on Christmas Eve after a life filled with hardship and struggle. But when George, aided by his guardian angel, is able to look back and see just what the world would look like if he had never been in it, he learns the value of impacting others’ lives, even in the smallest of ways.
A handful of actors, inhabiting the roles of Radio actors, bring dozens of characters to the stage, as each familiar story unfolds. At their microphones with a few costume pieces, live sound effects and live musical underscoring, these holiday classics will come to life just as they would have in a 1940s Radio Broadcast Studio!
Tickets are $5, and patrons will be able to watch the encore recordings of the shows ‘On Demand’ for 24 hours on the days they are respectively released. To see “A Christmas Carol” (12/19) or “It’s a Wonderful Life” (12/20) go to www.ridgedramaclub.com.
