Ridge Drama Club's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' Wins Big

Ridge High School's Drama Club production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" took home the top award for Overall Best Production.

Ridge High School's Drama Club production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" took home the top award for Overall Best Production at the Montclair State Theater Awards on Tuesday Night. In addition to the top honor, they impressively won an additional 3 awards throughout the evening including: Outstanding Achievement in Stage Direction- Martha Harvey, Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actress- Annabel Delgiorno, and Overall Outstanding Performance of a Classical Play.

The Foxy Awards recognizes excellence in both dramas and comedies throughout the state of New Jersey. The awards were announced remotely by stage and screen actors including Rob McClure, who most recently starred in the Broadway production of “Mrs. Doubtfire.”

Ridge Drama Club received a total of 11 nominations this year for the production: Outstanding Achievement in Period/Fantasy Costume Design, Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Design, Outstanding Achievement in Stage Direction (Mrs. Harvey), Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Classical Play (Max Rodriguez), Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Classical Play (SG Prejean), Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actor in a Classical Play (Nick Casey), Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actress in a Classical Play (Annabel DelGiornio), and Outstanding Production of a Classical Play!

But that's not all, they also received a certificate for "Superior Rating" because of the high scores that the play received. Congratulations are in order for everyone involved in this award winning production!
