Ridge Grad Turns Love Of Dogs Into Pet Care Business

What started as a way to make money in college for Nancy Bellai has turned into a full-time dog walking business called Fur Out Pet Care.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Lifelong Basking Ridge resident Nancy Bellai has always had a passion for dogs. What started as a way to make extra cash on the side has turned into her own business, Fur Out Pet Care, right in her hometown.

"I always grew up around dogs and started walking dogs in college to make money in between classes," Bellai said. "I left school but continued to walk dogs and built enough clients to make it a business."

Bellai has lived her entire life in Basking Ridge and graduated from Ridge High School in 2013. Growing up Bellai's aunt would foster dogs and she would help care for them. She then began dog walking for four years before launching Fur Out Pet Care in October.

"I absolutely have a lot of experience working with dogs," Bellai said who also has four rescue dogs of her own.

Fur Out really took off this past January with more clients being added from not only Basking Ridge but neighboring areas such as Bernardsville, Warren and Stirling.

Fur Out offers dog walking, puppy care, house visits for dogs, and house-sitting.

"For people who have multiple dogs and don't want to bring them anywhere I can come stay at their house. That way the dogs don't have to feel uncomfortable leaving their home," Bellai said. "I have four dogs so I know how it can be a pain to try to bring them all somewhere."

Interested clients can visit furoutnj.com for more information, book appointments and pay. Fur Out also has Instagram and Facebook pages.
