Directed by Martha Harvey, with music direction by Carol Beadle, “Cats” is a musical theatre staple that takes audiences on an unusual, exciting journey into the lives of their feline friends. Having made his Broadway debut as Mungojerrie in the revival of the show, Zachary Daniel Jones has joined the team this year, as a guest choreographer and co-director, sharing his experience and expertise to help students bring out their inner Jellicle Cat.

To shrink audiences down to cat-size and transport them to a moonlit alley junkyard, Jason Stewart, Dallas Harvey, and Seana Benz have led the stage, tech, and costume crew to achieve dazzling feats of stagecraft. They have worked tirelessly with their respective student crews to make the Jellicle magic come to life.

Under the glow of the moon a tribe of cats come together to celebrate the Jellicle Ball, a yearly event where they must choose one cat to travel up to the Heaviside Layer. From tap dancing tabbies, to train conductor cats, in a flurry of riveting spectacle and some unexpected twists and turns along the way, all the felines make their case, but only one can be chosen. Featuring exhilarating dance sequences, vibrant storytelling, and the rousing ballad “Memory,” “Cats” is a tale of community and acceptance with oodles of fun along the way – a night of theatre that is sure to delight the whole family.

“Cats” can be enjoyed on Thursday, May 6 at 6:30pm, Friday, May 7, Saturday May 8, and Sunday May 9 at 7pm at the Pleasant Valley Park Amphitheater. Tickets are $15, but donations are accepted and appreciated. Seating is limited and all tickets must be purchased in advance, online as none will be available for purchase at the venue. Patrons should bring a folding chair and blanket so they can enjoy this tale of mysterious felinity, under the stars. Each ticketed party will be given a designated space where they will be 6 feet from other parties. To purchase tickets, go to www.ridgepac.com.
