Somerset County Goes Appointment-Free At COVID Vaccination Clinics Following Successful Pilot
Following the successful pilot of appointment-free vaccination clinics at mobile sites and Rutgers Plaza over the past two weeks.

SOMERVILLE, NJ – Following the successful pilot of appointment-free vaccination clinics at mobile sites and Rutgers Plaza over the past two weeks, the Somerset County Department of Health is eliminating appointment requirements. Residents will still have to register at the vaccination clinic for recordkeeping and to ensure they can demonstrate they have been vaccinated, but any Somerset County resident who arrives at a clinic will receive a vaccine as long as supplies last.

“We’re pleased to be able to run COVID Vaccination clinics at five locations this week, including all five days in Franklin and at RVCC, and to be able to eliminate the need for appointments to ease access for residents,” said Somerset County Commissioner Douglas Singleterry, liaison to the Somerset County Department of Health. “As we get higher and higher percentages of people vaccinated, we will see more and more of our community open up for us to enjoy. I encourage everyone to take advantage of these clinics and speed our way to the full opening of our state and Somerset County.”
Vaccinations without appointments are available on a first-come first-serve basis at the following locations this week:

- Raritan Valley Community College, Easton Turnpike (Rt. 28) in Branchburg Wed-Fri from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Moderna
- Rutgers Plaza, 940 Easton Avenue in Somerset (Franklin) Wed-Fri from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., J&J
- Somerset County Senior Wellness Center, 876 E Main Street in Bridgewater Wed, Fri 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Moderna
- Robert Morris School, 122 Elizabeth Street in South Bound Brook Thurs. 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., J&J
Somerset County also held a successful vaccination clinic at the VFW in Manville on Tuesday. The county has now exceeded 50 percent of adults fully vaccinated, and 70 percent who have received at least a first dose of Moderna or Pfizer. Residents who have missed or not yet scheduled a second vaccination can call (908) 231-7155 for assistance.
Residents who are homebound and require vaccination at their residence can obtain appointments through the Somerset County COVID Hotline at (908) 231-7155 or http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/covidQs.
Future clinic appointment availability will be determined on a weekly based on the level of allocations provided to Somerset County by the state of New Jersey.
