Somerset County Rivers Flooding, Roads Closed Friday
Old York Road, Griggsway Causeway and The John Basilone Bridge are closed Friday due to flooding. Flood advisory extended to 7:45 p.m.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service's flood advisory for Somerset County has been extended as of 2:45 a.m. after several local rivers are already running high.
The advisory is now in effect until 7:45 p.m. due to more than 2 inches of rain that fell overnight with already saturated grounds have caused excessive runoff, according to the NWS.
The North Branch Raritan River at South Branch is at 8.77 feet causing minor flooding and closing Old York Rd between Branchburg and Bridgewater Townships. The John Basilone Bridge on Lyman Street in Raritn is also currently closed due to rising waters from the Raritan River.

The Millstone River at Griggstown is flooding at 10.28 feet causing the Griggstown Causeway in Montgomery to also close Friday.
The Lamington River at Burnt Mills is also running high at 9.8 feet below the 11 feet marker for minor flooding.

The Neshanic River at Reaville is above the 6.5 feet minor flooding stage coming in at 9.91 feet. Rockaway Creek is also running high.
Hillsborough announced the following road closures: Blackpoint Rd., Lymans Bridge into Raritan and River Rd between Riverside and Opie Road.
