Tony Award Winner To Sing At Basking Ridge's Holiday Kickoff
Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will lead the singalong for the Virtual Holiday Kickoff and Christmas Tree Lighting.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge's holiday season will get some award-winning flair. Tony Award winner Lauri Benanti will lead the singalong at the Virtual Holiday Kickoff and Christmas Tree Lighting.
The holiday events take place Saturday. The Basking Ridge Volunteer Fire Department will set up and trim the Christmas tree from 9 a.m. to noon. The portion from 4:30-5:30 p.m. will feature greetings from the mayor and local businesses, holiday music and the tree lighting countdown.
Benanti will join the festivities in the latter portion. The Basking Ridge Business Alliance, which hosts the event, encourages people to participate and post photos and videos of themselves singing along by using the hashtag #BRsingalong.

Benanti has received five Tony Award nominations and won in 2018 for her performance in “Gypsy.” She starred on Broadway in 13 shows including “She Loves Me” and “My Fair Lady.”

She also starred in several TV shows, including Supergirl, Nashville, Younger and the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot for HBOMax. She is the executive producer of the upcoming musical documentary, Homeschool Musical: Class of 2020, which will air mid-December on HBOMax.

"We hope this event will be a great opportunity for our community to celebrate the start of the holidays, together, from our homes."
