Water Main Break Repaired In Somerset County
The 36-inch water main break had impacted residents in 28 towns including Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Basking Ridge, Raritan and others.
SOMERVILLE, NJ — New Jersey American Water crews completed emergency repairs to the 36-inch water main break in Somerville on Friday afternoon. The break had impacted 28 neighboring towns including Bridgewater, Basking Ridge, Hillsborough, Montgomery, and Raritan.
Normal water use may now be resumed.
"You may initially experience discolored water as a result of these repairs. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear," said NJ American Water.

The water main break was reported on Tuesday afternoon and impacted customers in parts of Belle Mead, Branchburg, Bridgewater, Cranbury, Far Hills, Flemington, Gladstone, Hillsborough, Jamesburg, Kingston, Lawrence, Manville, Montgomery, Peapack, Plainsboro, Pottersville, Princeton, Raritan Borough Raritan Township, Readington, Somerville, Tewksbury, Three Bridges, West Windsor, Whitehouse, Whitehouse Station, Bedminster and Bernards Township.
