Weekly Walks Take To The Trails in Basking Ridge

The Environmental Education Center (EEC) Naturalists will lead a weekly walking group on Tuesdays in May from 9 to 10 a.m.

Basking Ridge, NJ -- With the pleasant spring weather here, it's time to get outside and see what Somerset County has to offer.

The Environmental Education Center (EEC) Naturalists will lead a weekly walking group on Tuesdays, May 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 9 to 10 a.m. at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.

Walkers will maintain a moderate pace for the hour-long walk.

The trails at the EEC include eight and one-half miles and relatively flat terrain as they meander through 450 acres of The Great Swamp. Approximately three miles are board walked.

The Yellow Trail approaches the Passaic River and the southern perimeter of the park (the Blue and Red trails) is a succession that is slowly changing abandoned farm fields to woodland.Fee for the 5 session is $25 per person.
