Annual Spring Beach Sweeps To Clean Up Berkeley Beaches
Clean Ocean Action's annual spring beach sweeps are set to take place Saturday morning at a few locations near Berkeley.
BERKELEY, NJ — Clean Ocean Action’s annual spring beach sweeps are set to take place Saturday morning at a few locations near Berkeley.
Beach captains will be on hand to provide supplies and guidance to volunteers throughout the morning.
Volunteers can get more information and must register for the beach sweeps at cleanoceanaction.org.

Here are the cleanups taking place around Berkeley:
- Amherst Drive Beach: 73 Amherst Dr., Bayville (The cleanup will begin at Amherst Drive Beach at 9 a.m., then move to Allen Road Beach and Butler's Beach)
- Ocean Gate Beach: 228 E Longport Ave., Ocean Gate
- Midway Beach at 6th Lane: 48 Ocean Ave., Seaside Park
- Island Beach State Park: Bathing Pavilion #1 Central Ave., Seaside Park
Volunteers and groups looking to participate in the annual beach sweep on April 17 can also register in other nearby towns. Volunteers can visit cleanoceanaction.org to see other participating locations.

Clean Ocean Action has staggered the arrival times for the beach sweeps at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Volunteers can select their preferred arrival time when filling out the registration form.
