Berkeley Elementary School Trail Cleanup Seeks Adult Volunteers

Volunteers are cleaning up the trail near Berkeley Elementary School on Saturday morning for outdoor classes. They still need extra hands.

BERKELEY, NJ — Volunteers are clearing the trail near Berkeley Township Elementary School on Saturday morning so classes can have outdoor lessons this spring.

The cleanup's organizers are still looking for extra helping hands.

“Spring is here and now is the time to get this path ready for outdoor lessons,” the organizers wrote in an online flyer

The cleanup will take place from 8 a.m. to noon. For social distancing purposes, the cleanup has staggered one-hour time slots.

Interested adults can sign up here to participate. Cleanup equipment like rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows will be available.

Participants should wear face masks. Organizers also recommend volunteers wear protective gear like gloves, hats and bug spray.
