Berkeley Recreation Summer Camp Is On This Year

Berkeley will provide more detail Friday on activities and coronavirus precautions.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Berkeley Recreation Department's summer camp is on for this year. Camp will take place from July 6 to Aug. 14.

The township will provide more details Friday on activities, requirements and coronavirus precautions.

The Department of Health has a long set of guidelines and rules for staff, parents and campers to follow that deal with screening, hygiene, social distancing and staff/camper ratios.

Some of the guidelines include: cloth face coverings for staff and campers shall be worn when social distancing of 6 feet between assigned groups cannot be maintained. Cloth face coverings should not be put on children under age 2 because of the danger of suffocation.

Daily health screening for COVID-19 will be put in place at entry for campers and staff. Residential and overnight camps are also not permitted.
