Christmas Week Storm In Berkeley: Here's The Forecast
Severe storms are expected to hit Berkeley and possibly cause power outages. Here is what's expected to happen.
BERKELEY, NJ — Severe weather is expected to hit Berkeley on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, packing strong 70-mph winds that could cause power outages.
The National Weather Service placed Berkeley under a high wind warning for Christmas Eve and morning — 6 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. At this time, there are no coastal flooding warnings in effect for this storm system.
Forecasters expect about 1-2 inches of rain by Thursday night. Gusts could peak at 70 mph on Christmas Eve.

- Thursday night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 45. Very windy, with a south wind 30 to 40 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Christmas Day: A chance of rain before 10am, then a chance of showers between 10am and 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Breezy, with a west wind around 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
