Berkeley Township police encouraged residents to use extreme caution on sidewalks and driveways that could be icy.

Two inches of snow were recorded in Bayville as of Thursday afternoon, according to National Weather Service totals.

Closures

The storm caused closures throughout the area on Thursday. The Berkeley Township and Central Regional School Districts announced remote learning days on both Thursday and Friday.

Several local businesses closed early due to the inclement weather.

Here's the forecast in Berkeley as of Thursday afternoon:

  • Thursday night: Sleet. Low around 29. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.
  • Friday: Rain before 11am, then rain and snow. High near 35. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Friday night: A chance of snow, mainly before 7pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 25. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
