CANCELED: Learn Signs Of Teens' Drug Use At Library Program Thursday

How do you know whether your teenager or a teen you know is using drugs?

A program at the Ocean County Library’s Berkeley branch Thursday night aims to help adults learn how to know the signs.

This program is led by police veteran and experienced law enforcement trainer Joseph Pangaro and begins at 6:30 p.m. at the branch, located at 30 Station Road.

He will show what drugs and their associated paraphernalia look like and what hidden clues to look for in homes and cars. He will also discuss what drugs are trending in our area, including increased heroin usage among teenagers.

Pangaro will examine the markers to watch for that are warning signs of possible drug use and its symptoms, including depression, withdrawal, hostility, changes in friends, and an increased secrecy about possessions and activities.

Free professional certification hours are available for educators and professionals who attend.
