Leonard M. Vannella Of Bayville Dies At 81

Visitation and a service will be held on in Bayville on Sunday

Leonard M. Vannella, a longtime Bayville resident, died on Sept. 26. He was 81.

He was born and raised in Newark. He later moved tt Beach Haven and settled to Bayville in 1960. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1954-1960. During his service, Leonard began his career as a barber and went on to work for Fort Dix for 22 years. He was later was self employed until his retirement in 2002. He was an avid sports fan, especially the New Giants and the New York Yankees.

Mr. Vannella is predeceased by his wife Patricia Vannella in 2015 and by his brother Joseph Vannella. He is survived by his three children, Joyce Shedden, Mark Vannella and Jill Vannella; his five grandchildren, Aaron Fee and his wife Rhonda, Courtney Anderson and her husband Gene, George Vannella, Sean Shedden and Holly Vannella; his brother Carmine Vannella and his wife Peg and his brother-in-law John Fee and his wife Susan.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ 08721. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m.
