Louise C. Hammer, Owner Of The Crab's Claw Inn, Dies At 72

Services for the owner of the popular Lavallette restaurant will be held on Sunday and Monday.

Louise C. Hammer of Lavallette died peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends at her home. She was 72.

Louise was born in Bayonne and lived in Lavallette, where she raised her children. She was a proud owner of the Crab's Claw Inn in Lavallette. Louise was a parishioner of Faith Lutheran Church in Lavallette. Louise is predeceased by her parents William and Bertha Coxson and her siblings Janice Morris and Roy Coxson.

Surviving is her loving husband Samuel "Sam" Hammer III of Lavallette; her children Shannon Korb and her husband Craig of Point Pleasant and Samuel "Sam" Hammer IV and his wife Nicole of Point Pleasant, and her grandchildren Marley, Lucy and Penelope.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday June 24, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave. Lavallette, NJ. A funeral service will be held on at 10 a.m. on Monday June 25, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lavallette. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle, NJ. The funeral arrangements are under the auspices of Timothy E. Ryan and the staff of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals in Lavallette.
