UPDATE: Power Restored For More Than 9K In Berkeley

More than a third of Berkeley lost power Tuesday morning, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

BERKELEY, NJ — UPDATE: Jersey Center Power & Light restored power for more than 9,000 Berkeley residents.

There were 9,047 homes in Berkeley without power as of 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The power outage left more than a third of town without power, according to JCP&L.

JCP&L estimates power will be restored at 12:30 p.m. They have counted 20,283 outages in Ocean County as of 10:15 a.m.

A nor’easter is expected to hit New Jersey Wednesday with strong 35 to 50 mph winds. According to the National Weather Service, the storm will be fierce enough to knock down power lines and cause power outages and other damage.
