Nor'easter Impacts In Berkeley: School Updates, Forecast
A mix of rain and snow continued to hit Berkeley on Monday with more on the way.
BERKELEY, NJ — A mix of rain and snow continued to hit Berkeley on Monday with more on the way (see the updated forecast below).
The NWS placed Berkeley under a coastal flood warning through Tuesday at 5 p.m. and a winter storm warning until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Ahead of the storm, the Berkeley Township School District transitioned to a remote learning day on Monday. The district announced they will also utilize a remote learning day on Tuesday.

Roads conditions remain hazardous throughout the state. New Jersey declared a state of emergency, suspended trains and buses and restricted travel on highways.

Ocean Township police reminds residents that parking is prohibited on snow covered streets. All vehicles, trash cans and basketball hoops should be removed from roadways.
Here's the NWS's forecast for Berkeley as of 2:30 p.m. Monday:
Monday: Rain and snow before 4pm, then rain, snow, and sleet between 4pm and 5pm, then snow and sleet after 5pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 36. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Monday night: Snow before 9pm, then rain and snow between 9pm and 1am, then snow likely after 1am. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 29. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tuesday: Snow likely before 1pm, then a chance of rain and snow between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 35. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Tuesday night: A chance of rain showers, snow showers, and freezing rain before 9pm, then a chance of snow showers between 9pm and 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 25. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
