Ocean Gate School's 3rd And 4th Graders Go Remote For 2 Weeks
Ocean Gate School's students in grades three and four will learn remotely for two weeks after two new COVID cases were found in the school.
OCEAN GATE, NJ — Ocean Gate School’s students in grades three and four will learn remotely for two weeks after two new COVID-19 cases were found in the school.
Superintendent Melanie Patterson made the announcement Monday in a letter to parents.
To decrease potential exposure, third and fourth graders will learn virtually and are expected to return to in-person learning by Feb. 22.

Patterson said siblings of students in grades three and four do not have to quarantine unless they have symptoms, test positive or have someone in their house who tests positive. Patterson asked parents to closely monitor children for symptoms.
No changes will be made for students in other grades at this time.

The Ocean Gate School Spelling Bee has been postponed to Feb. 23.
