Students were never in danger, schools superintendent says

OCEAN GATE, NJ - It's still not clear why a student at the Ocean Gate Elementary School brought an Airsoft gun to the school recently, but schools Superintendent Frank Vanalesti said students were never in any danger, according to a report on JerseyShore.Online.com

“Some parents, based on their own experiences, will put things on social media that are not factual,” he told jersey.shore.online when asked if the incident was a result of bullying. “Some parents, based on their own experiences, will put things on social media that are not factual. It is based on rumor.”

Airsoft guns are mostly used in games where players are placed in a tactical simulation where they must eliminate the opposite team and/or complete various objectives, according to airsoftstation.com. They are also commonly used by SWAT teams and military units for training.
