Ocean Gate Woman 'Critical' After Route 70 Crash In Toms River
Her passenger and the driver of the other vehicle also were injured, police said.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — An Ocean Gate woman was listed in critical condition following a crash at Route 70 and Whitesville Road on Friday that injured two other people, Toms River police said.
Barbara Bane, 55, of Ocean Gate, was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, said Jillian Messina, media specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
Her rear-seat passenger, whom police did not identify, and the driver of the other vehicle, Katelynn Kline, 21, of Manchester, were taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore with serious injuries, Messina said.

The crash happened about 9:30 a.m. Bane was westbound on Route 70, attempting to turn left from the left-turn lane on 70 onto Whitesville Road when her vehicle and Kline's vehicle collided, Messina said. Kline was eastbound on Route 70 in the right lane at the time, she said.
The accident is being investigated by Traffic Safety Officer Terry Warren.
