Route 9 In Bayville To Be Repaved Next Week

Route 9 in Bayville is expected to be repaved overnight on or about Wednesday, July 7, weather permitting, Mayor Carmen Amato announced.

BERKELEY, NJ — Route 9 in Bayville is expected to be repaved overnight on or about Wednesday, July 7, weather permitting, Mayor Carmen Amato announced.

Crews from the New Jersey Department of Transportation will mill and repave the road at mile marker 89 in Beachwood down to mile marker 81 in Lacey from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m.

The work is expected to take several days to complete.

“I know we’ve been waiting for quite a few years to get that done, but we’re pleased that it’s done,” Amato said. “A couple people said ‘Anyway you could have them put it off until fall?’ I’m like ‘Absolutely not.’ We’ve been waiting four years to get this done.”

Detours will be set up while crews work at night.

Crews may work on traffic signals during the day, but that work is not expected to impact traffic, Amato said.
