St. Patrick School Awards Agnes Lunetta Memorial Scholarship

Samantha Losacco Receives Scholarship to Continue Education at St. Patrick School

St. Patrick School (SPS), a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School and an AdvancED STEM Certified School, today announces that 7th grader, Samantha Losacco is the recipient of the Agnes Lunetta Memorial Scholarship for 2020. Each year the children of Agnes Lunetta, who was a parishioner of St. Patrick Parish for more than 60 years, award one current SPS 7th grader with a $1,000 tuition scholarship for 8th grade at St. Patrick School. The scholarship is awarded based on an essay reflecting living the Catholic faith.

Samantha Losacco is the daughter of Michelle and Steven LosAcco and resides in Chatham, NJ. She started her educational journey at St. Patrick School at Kindergarten and will graduate with the class of 2021. Samantha’s essay focused on how faith carried her through a challenging life event.

Agnes Lunetta was a resident of Chatham and a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Parish for more 60 years. She anchored and inspired her family with a deep and constant faith and was a tireless advocate of both academic and Catholic education. Her children Patricia, Susan and Lawrence established the Agnes Lunetta Faith Scholarship in 2011 in loving memory of their mother. Mrs. Lunetta’s faith journey included much personal suffering and many sorrows like her namesake, St. Agnes. Yet, she remained steadfast on her journey. Her faith was vibrant and strong until the end of her life.
