Storm Damage Leaves Central Regional Schools Without Power

Heavy rains and winds knocked down a pole with wires on Forest Hills Parkway.

BERKELEY, NJ—Monday's storm left thousands in Berkeley without power, knocked down poles and caused a school closure. Heavy rains and winds knocked down a pole with wires on Forest Hills Parkway near Central Regional High School and Middle School.

The Central Regional School District was operating remotely Tuesday.

Thousands of Berkeley residents lost power Monday, though fewer than five are still without power as of Tuesday at 11 a.m. JCP&L are addressing the damage with police.

The National Weather Service reported a wind advisory was in effect along the shore from Monday afternoon through 6 p.m.
