$10K Grant Will Aid Domestic Violence Nonprofit In Essex County

About 20 percent of the Bloomfield-based nonprofit's clients live in Montclair and the surrounding area, it stated.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Partners for Women and Justice, a Bloomfield-based nonprofit, recently received a $10,000 grant from the Montclair Foundation that will help it advocate for victims of domestic violence.

According to a news release from the nonprofit, the grant will support its legislative and judicial advocacy efforts for victims and survivors of domestic violence.

The group offered the following statement about its recent efforts:

“In 2017, Partners for Women and Justice launched an advocacy initiative to address the systemic – and sometimes dangerous – problems faced by victims of domestic violence. By focusing on systemic change, Partners’ advocacy initiative has the potential to benefit all victims of domestic violence, including those in the Montclair area.”

About 20 percent of the nonprofit’s clients live in Montclair and the surrounding area, it stated.

“We are so grateful that the Montclair Foundation is once again supporting Partners’ important work with a very generous grant,” Executive Director Jane Hanson said. “The foundation’s continued support plays a key part in Partners’ ability to expand its reach to address systemic problems faced by domestic violence victims.”
